PRINCIPAL'S  MESSAGE

My philosophy of education is based on the premise of meeting all students at their ability level and providing opportunities for success through differentiated and individualized instruction that is also standards-based.  My experience, along with my knowledge base in education, has allowed me to create an environment for my school that is conducive to learning for all students.  As an assistant principal, I continuously maintained and supported a cohesive atmosphere with emphasis on critical thinking, problem solving, and rigorous learning activities. I have worked cooperatively with my staff, parents, and school community to guarantee a high-quality education for all students.  I believe that a significant amount of time should be allocated for instruction, and students should be assessed frequently using a variety of assessment techniques.  Also, I believe in a safe, orderly, and meaningful learning environment where teachers are able to effectively teach and students are able to learn; an environment that is supported by all of our parents, staff, students, and community leaders. This is the vision that I have been able to effectively convey to all of our stakeholders; also, I agree with the DeKalb County School District’s mission that all children can learn and can advance within an environment that is conducive to learning.
